Smitha Karthik is a Musician, lyricist, author and an able compere. Over the years she has broadened her artistic vision, expanded her skills through many artistic experiments in the field of film music and Light music.
She is trained in Carnatic Music under Guru, Smt K.G. Kanakalakshmi, ‘A’ grade artist (Retd), AIR Mysore, Light music under Guru Somasundaram.
Presently Undergoing Voice culture Training under the able guidance of Shri Rajan Nagendra, renowned veteran Music director of Kannada Film industry.
Smitha Karthik has passed Junior and Senior exams in Carnatic Music.
She has performed in many prestigious musical programmes across the state and abroad.
Notable ones are “Vasanthotsava-2018” in Melbourne, “Spring Festival” Sydney, “Rajan Nagendra Night”, Mangalore, DasaGitamruta –Taralabalu, Indranagar Sangeet Sabha, “Madhura Nada haridu haridu” A musical night of Rajan Nagendra hits, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, “SahasraChandra Darshana”, Bangalore, “Banquet Hall”, Vidhanasoudha, KV Alumni association, Kannada Rajyotsava program conducted by Kannada Culture Department, Bangalore International Airport Ltd and so on.
She has been selected in All India Radio and undergoing training in Compering.
She has participated in the Rajyotsava program from TV 5 in the year 2018.
She has also penned lyrics for two devotional albums, “Nadi Manave Rayara Brundavanake” and “Kadari Manjunatha Geethaamruta” where one song is sung by Dr. S.P Balasubramanyam. Music director for both the albums is shri Rajan Nagendra.
She has also rendered a song in “Nadi Manave Rayara Brundavanake”.
Dasagitamruta – A combination of Purandara dasa kritis and Bhagawadgita shlokas has been completely scripted by her.
She has authored a book in Kannada called “Swara Samrat Rajan Nagendra” – a biography of the veteran music director shri Rajan Nagendra.

She has participated in BTv on Republic day celebrations.
She has also given lecture presentation on “Classical Music and its usage in Film songs” for Rotary club, RT nagar.
